The Western Maine
Lakes Region Discovery Research Project was initiated by the Bridgton
Recreation Advancement Group (BRAG) in October of 2002. Our goals are to
“discover” the traditional artists and artisans in the Western Maine Lakes
Region, compile a searchable database that will be accessible on the
internet, produce a printed Arts and Culture Directory and produce a
searchable CD in both PC and Mac versions. We also hope to produce a
television program through Lake Region Television (local access cable TV)
that will highlight area artisans and be distributed to local access cable
stations throughout Maine.
Discovery
Research is a community-wide inventory and consensus-building process in
which cultural resources and needs are identified. Once the Discovery
Research is completed, our communities will use the information gathered
and the networks that have been built to establish and strengthen local
arts organizations. It is also our goal to build a Cultural Heritage
Center where our traditional artists and artisans can come together to
network, workshop, create, display and create markets for their work.
We invite you to
complete a Discovery Research Form and become a part of this exciting and
valuable project. Contact the person below closest to you or

printable PDF form.
